The Schenectady-based Spartans topped the Mohawk Valley NightHawks 12-0 at Larry Mulvaney Field to take the 2019 EFL title. The Spartans, the top seed in this year's postseason, topped Plattsburgh 35-21 in last weekend's semifinals, while Mohawk Valley beat Watertown 34-28 in its semifinal. Last year, the Spartans lost in the semifinals to the Hudson Valley Mountaineers.

The Spartans went 9-1 during the regular season, outscoring their opponents 223-124 during those 10 games. The team's lone loss came at Watertown following a 6-0 start to the season.

As has been done in previous years, this game was live streamed worldwide to further promote the league and players. Live viewership for Saturday night's game peaked at 11,000 - an increase of 7,000 from 2018. The archived video from the championship game is available by clicking EFL Live Stream.
