WATERTOWN, N.Y. (WWNY) - In Empire Football League action from the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds Saturday night, the Watertown Red and Black closed out their regular season as they hosted Mohawk Valley. A win by the Red and Black combined with a Plattsburgh loss would put Watertown in position to host a playoff game in 2 weeks.
In the 3rd quarter the game was tied at 14 when Connor Brown came up with an interception and he goes 82 yards for a touchdown, putting the Red and Black go on top 21-14. The Red and Black defense came up big when Elijah Coleman recorded a quarterback sack.
In the 4th quarter, Mohawk Valley goes for it on 4th down and Coleman comes up with another sack. That sets up a touchdown pass from Jared Hendricks to Trey Smith. Score: 27-14 Watertown. Watertown takes the win with a final score of 27-20.
