SCHENECTADY — The Plattsburgh North Stars were dealt their first loss of the season with a 13-7 setback to the Tri-City Spartans.

The North Stars had a last-second pass get intercepted in the end zone to seal their fate in Empire Football League play Saturday at Schenectady High School.

“It was pretty frantic there at the end, but it was a really close football game,” Plattsburgh coach Scott Aguglia said. “It was a back-and-forth battle, and it was a good defensive football game.”

The North Stars (4-1) had to dig themselves out of a 13-0 hole and didn't score until midway through the fourth quarter.

Plattsburgh's lone touchdown was scored with about six minutes left by Zach Raymond on an 18-yard pass from Harry Rascoe.
