PLATTSBURGH — Thomas Montanaro's 18-yard field goal with a little over 3 minutes remaining sealed the win for the Plattsburgh North Stars in Empire Football League play Saturday.

The North Stars (4-3) outlasted the Utica Yard Dogs 23-20 at Melissa L. Penfield Park.

Montanaro's game-winner was set up by Brandon St. John's second fumble recovery of the night.

St. John was able to snag the ball at the 5-yard line on a botched punt return.
