The Empire Football League recently held its Annual Meeting in Schenectady, New York and announced major initiatives for 2018:

• Strategic Planning: EFL Strategic Plan was updated based on fact-based data to further refine the league's branding. Countermeasures were implemented to prevent league miscommunication and branding misrepresentations. EFL Member Teams unanimously affirmed that they are comfortable with the league's current status, stability and a preferred six committed team scenario. Contrary to rumor, the Empire Football League remains solid and is not falling apart.
• EFL Franchise Fees: Waived new team franchise fees for 2018 season
• New Teams: Announced the addition of the Utica Yard Dogs from Utica, the Hudson Valley Mountaineers of Kingston and Tri-State Spartans from Schenectady, New York
• EFL Game of the Week: Implement 2017 plans to integrate live video streaming league wide. The EFL Game of the Week enables each EFL team to acknowledge sponsors as an adjunct to traditional printed media (tickets, programs). This implementation markets the EFL and provides an opportunity for fans around the world to view EFL game action. The 2018 EFL season will start July 7th (bye September 1st) and ends September 15th. The EFL Playoffs will take place September 22nd and conclude with the EFL Championship Game on September 29th.
