The Empire Football League
The Empire Football League

The Empire Football League recently held its Annual Meeting in Binghamton, New York and announced the addition of the Mohawk Valley Titans from Utica, New York and the Seaway Valley Venom of Massena, New York. EFL Commissioner Dave Burch stated, “over the past months I had very positive interactions with the management of the both of these new franchises and am quite satisfied that they are in this for all of the right reasons; to provide an opportunity for adult amateur football in their community. They have made sure that the proper resources are in place to ensure their success as a solid EFL franchise.”

Now in its 47th year of operation, the Empire Football League continues to be one of the premier and oldest semipro/minor league football organizations in the nation. The EFL prides itself with consistency and adherence to agreed upon processes. The league’s success is driven by a solid group of team owners that work together and respect one another as businessmen. They have accepted their roles regarding operation of the league and rely upon the league’s leadership as facilitators of agreements made such as by laws, schedules and officiating. Going forward with the 2016 motto of “stronger together as a league”, the EFL is looking forward to another exciting year of football.

The 2016 EFL season will start July 9th (bye September 5th) and ends October 1st. The EFL Playoffs will take place October 8th, October 15th and conclude with the EFL Championship Game on October 22nd.
