GLENS FALLS - Jack Gibbs got to knock some rust off his 35-year-old passing arm and the Glens Falls Greenjackets’ defense put on a show Saturday night.
Seven players scored touchdowns — offense, defense and special teams — as the Jackets (2-3) rolled to a soggy 47-0 Empire Football League rout of the Glove Cities Colonials at East Field.

But the brightest highlight was a 9-year-old boy getting a chance to suit up and run for a touchdown.

Bryce Reynolds, a special needs student from Hudson Falls, ran a sweep play 30 yards to the end zone before the second half started. He was then mobbed by both teams congratulating him.

“It was good,” Bryce said, then added, with a serious look on his face, “I’m going on defense.”

“That’s all he talked about today,” said his father, Aaron Reynolds. “He was showing everybody he was in the paper. They’re a good bunch of guys here to make this happen.”

To a man, the Jackets wore smiles on the sideline after the play and many gave him high fives.
